Snowflake
Here is an example of a horse with the snowflake allele. Snowflake, or SnS, creates small white spots. They may be present just over the hips or spread over the whole body. When the spots spread over the whole body, the head usually remains dark, with very few spots. This horse’s genotype is written SnS_ (Gower, 105).
The presence of the snowflake allele is indicated here by a pattern created from plaster decorations in the Alhambra in Spain.
