I have been selected to be one of the recipients of the Joan Mitchell Foundation 2010 MFA Grant Program.  The foundation was established in 1993 following artist Joan Mitchell's death in 1992.  The foundation supports the arts, specifically painting and sculpture, by awarding grants to artists and supporting outside workshops and programs.  The MFA Grant Program was set up to help students transition from an academic  to a professional studio.  Their website can be found here.  I want to give sincere thanks to the people at Miami University who nominated me and to the people at the Foundation.  Congrats to all the other recipients!

The deadline for the State Fair show is coming up on May 22.  It's a great space with lots of room for big work and installations.  It's not air conditioned though, and the fair is in August, so don't send anything that will melt or warp.  You can go the the exhibition's blog here, and download the prospectus from there.
